For us, facilitation is the art of leading people through a process toward agreed-upon objectives in a manner that encourages participation, ownership, and productivity from all involved.
Whatever your goal, good facilitation makes it easier to reach.
We’ve honed our techniques and gotten our flip chart sea legs, leading 1,000+ workshops, design sprints, convenings, gatherings, and strategic planning sessions.
Our design-minded approach enlists participants – whether they be board members, staff, stakeholders, or citizens – as full participants.
Together, we avoid the frustration and monotony of most gatherings by creating active, memorable, and highly productive sessions. Participants leave with artifacts – tangible, creative reminders – and the sense that their contributions were meaningful.
Facilitating 1,000+ sessions means we've done a bit of everything.

Office of Adolescent Health
To better center and have the voices of youth inform their work, Brocade facilitated a series of design thinking workshops for OAH and a group of adolescent health practitioners from across the country. Brocade led the group in interviewing adolescents, synthesizing what was learned, and creating new ideas and prototypes - that were presented to youth from D.C. and Baltimore for refinement.
This growing and innovative non-profit has brought the Brocade team in to facilitate its annual, in-person Board meeting. Featured on NBC Nightly News for their work connecting immigrant and refugee families with supportive neighbors that help them navigate their new lives, Brocade's facilitation has helped Hello Neighbor's Board prioritize and craft an expansion strategy.
To bring together a group of new leaders and collectively set goals for the coming year, Brocade worked with Dallas' ABC news station to facilitate a team-building and strategy retreat. We returned the following year to conduct a 360 leadership assessment and companion retreat.
